Andy Milbauer has been throwing pottery since 1993. Initially he just wanted to make a planter for his first bonsai tree. The tree didn't survive, and he found he preferred playing with clay more gratifying than bonsai. Over the years he was fortunate to get lessons from many different potters. He strives to make functional, food ware safe pieces. One of his goals is to make certain all of his coffee mugs can fit his entire hand. Many of his pieces are inspired by things he encounters while skiing, hiking, and kayaking
