Classes and Workshops

Thanks for your interest in pottery classes with us!  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our plan is to offer limited classes in January 2022.  We are looking at reimagining our class structures and offerings. We are working on safe and engaging options. Check back in January 2022 for more details.  The City of Fort Collins and Smokestack Pottery are great places for classes too!

The Northern Colorado Potters’ Guild offers adult throwing classes for all skill levels. On occasion, we have hand-building, teen & children’s classes, and workshops. Students must be 18 years or older to register for our adult throwing classes.

All guild classes are on Tuesdays or Thursdays unless otherwise noted. Classes are 8-week sessions.

Beginning students will learn fundamentals, such as centering, throwing, trimming & glazing.

Intermediate/Advanced students will continue to develop their acquired skills and begin to refine their work. Techniques may include such things as creating lidded forms, altering forms, and more.

Classes include one 25 lb bag of clay and all glaze/firing charges. Non-guild members are allowed 5 hours of lab time per week. A guild member must be present while non-members are working at the guild. Non-members should call prior to coming to the guild to ensure a guild member will be there during the hours they wish to work. Please check the class and workshop schedules in order not to interfere with them.
